Broaden Your Movement Repertoire

Friday mornings, starting March 27th 2026

Family Island YMCA, 66 Johnny Mercer Blvd, Savannah, GA 31410

In this class, regain your flexibility, confidence and control.

Age can so often be a matter of having slowly let options go—through accidents and illnesses, through cultural pressures and life experiences. It doesn’t have to be that way!

Through Body Wisdom, with Carie’s support, you’ll reclaim your options—in your own way, your own pace and at your own choosing.

Monthly Zoom Classes

Flexible Relief: Feet, Ankles, Knees

(and therefore Hips)

March 2026, more information on timing coming soon

Here’s why someone would sign up for this class: their feet hurt, their ankles are sore, their knees are giving out, or they have hip pain–and they want relief.

Yes, that’s why you might sign up. But what would you actually experience? Not just the absence of pain, but the restoration of pleasure. The walk is more pleasurable intrinsically. But a good stride also leans you into all kinds of pleasurable consequences. Your heart, your breath, your cognitive and endocrine patterns—they harmonize. In fact, your literal musicality—your gait—is part of the happy walker’s transformation.

Flexible Relief

Friday afternoons, starting March 27th 2026

Family Island YMCA, 66 Johnny Mercer Blvd, Savannah, GA 31410

Body Wisdom classes, based on the work of Moshé Feldenkrais, foster internal and external harmony, flexible mind and body, greater power and grace and playful (and sometimes serious) improvements in movement and pacing. The changes arise from the student’s choice. Whether working with seniors for balance, kayakers refining their stroke, performers enhancing stage presence or anyone seeking pain relief, Carie holds a space where the student becomes their own best teacher.

These lessons offer flexibility, balance, efficient movement and pleasure, all rolled into one. Many of the lessons are on the floor, so bring a mat and a pillow for your head or under your knees, if needed.

Neuroplasticity: The Peripheral Gaze

April 2026, more information on timing coming soon

In April, I’ll be offering The Peripheral Gaze in the Neuroplasticity category. This weekly zoom class addresses the relationship between peripheral vision, gut clench, mood, dementia and balance—and yes, there really is a significant relationship. The short version: participate in a collaborative class that includes a wide range of people w relevant expertise, have fun, deepen your understanding of what other people might be ‘seeing’ (including people with dementia) and become more aware and deft with your vision, balance and mood.
