SECOND SURVEY

What's working well for you?

  • The length of classes is easier for me to manage but the frequency is too much for me.

  • It's all working well interactions at end of sessions puts it onto perspective

  • The flexibility of dropping in or not. Id like to join every time and not miss anything, but knowing its ok not showing up every time makes me feel at ease when I dont. Also, the schedule is nicely spread out over the week.

  • Switching drop in from Tuesday to Wednesday allowed me to attend.

  • I feel that I can look at my body on a very relaxed way. I discover muscels, I was not consciously before. I am amused about it.

  • the drop-in drop out and ability to adapt classes around my ability after surgry

  • [some memories come up; you are there to talk me through it]

  • The other stuff is good, too.

  • I love the sessions content, including the instruction, inspiration , intrigue, and group dynamics.

  • My nervous system and muscles like short lessons. I love all of the noticing that I'm learning to do. I appreciate having the recordings to go back to.

What could be improved--portal, teaching style, schedule--'what could be improved' isn't just a tactful way of asking what's screwed up, it is also a request for wild ideas you'd like to see us co-create and play with.

  • I've been confused by all the emails.

  • I haven't been accessing the portal which is not unusual for me. I'm often not taking full advantage of things like the portal or group discussions etc.

  • Having the dates go automatically into my calendar had left my calendar with so many dates and times. I always put in my appointments and then Carie's stuff goes on and now I've got 3 things to remind me of the one session. To much.

  • I find having 3 days of sessions per week really is difficult to fit in with my life. With the 1 course I signed up for(rolling) plus the 3 for the pilot study I've got 4 mornings a week split up (it's 10 AM for me) so I can attend the classes. I'm a mid morning person so usually my most productive times are 9 till about 1 so for my home working time I'm leaving and coming back for about an hour at a time. Even though the sessions are only 20 to 30 minutes, it uses up another 30 minutes to get my computer going, getting into the sessions and setting up my room. They may not seem like much but it has been very disruptive for my lifestyle. 2 days a week of this type of schedule I'm finding is enough for me.

  • So far I cant think of anything to be improved or tried out.

  • Schedule is always the issue. I have no no solution, even just from my perspective. It is tough to fit in everything that interests or commands me. For example, recently we were watching for weather windows to do essential things for gardening. Fortunately, I did not have to miss a class to catch the opportunity, but the gardening got priority on some other things.

  • For me it should be nice when I know the item of the lesson and what is the content. That makes it easier for me to follow the lesson. By the way following the lessons is going better and better. Sometimes it is dificult to find the audios and scripts because I don’t know where the link is in the website.

  • sometimes its hard to figure out/remember how the movements go with the words

  • Portal is good and getting better each week. Lessons to include music and dance?

  • I thought I would be able to attend every session.i haven't and with all the different sessions I feel a bit behind when I can attend. ? Maybe a more defined schedule of sessions like Sat=a movement session, thur= Q&A session, maybe another session focused on participants requests??? That might help me prioritize when I can't attend all.

  • It's all working for me at the moment. As we continue, I'll see if any wild ideas come to me.

For me, the most precious moments have been when you turn to one another for advice or insight or just the chance to chase down an idea. I hadn't hoped for that much community that soon. And not everyone has to have community in their movement classes-- some of you don't care, some of you need more time... But now that I have anchored you in my enthusiasm    ; - )   What do you think of the community-building?

  • I really like talking to the other participants. I'm not good at conversation and there are times that if I'm put on the spot my mind goes completely blank and it freaks me out. It's not a reflection on the other participants or you, it's just my adhd brain doesn't always work as predictably as I would like.

  • It's good I enjoy the interactions

  • I am one of those who needs more time. I do like the community-building idea. It is nice doing this together and discover what and how the exercises teach us.

  • I have enjoyed some descriptions of experience that were different from my experience of the same time/event. Revisiting my experience that way (via a contrasting perspective) helps my understanding of my experience even when the other perspective does not resonate with me.

  • I like it more and more listening to the others. And special advice is wonderful. This creates a sense of community.

  • community style generally works well. Gives me idea how others are doing

  • Keep it up (the optional before and after chats, with calling on the silent as well as the vocal). The community adds color, new insights, and a sense of belonging to a dynamic and evolving group on a journey together.

  • It's cool to be able to have people from all over the world with such varied backgrounds

  • I'm new and haven't connected with any of the other students as of yet. I'm not sure if I will but I'm open to it. I think having a thing, like kayaking, in common is a great way to connect people.

What topics would you like me to address, or come back to, in the 'resources' section?

  • The mind body connection is always interesting to me

  • More on hips please

  • mobility of the ribs, how the shoulder moves along the ribs and the complexity of the ankle and bones in the foot

  • I haven't given enough attention to the resources section but I like the idea that both old and new stuff is there (back to the time thing).

  • What do you mean by resources sectiob?

  • the foot to foot when my left leg/knee is up to it.

  • see question 1.

  • And I don't know what to do with the next question. It is like voting in a Russian election. Putin or Putin? Did you forget to finish the choices?

  • I just find your prompting different areas of Awareness super helpful and often leading to a piece of enlightenment.

  • The jaw, voice, facial muscles, feet. Balancing? Integrating an artificial joint. For the last question, there's isn't a place to respond, so I'll do it here. I like the second script. It's more relaxing to read.
